So, moving has actually been a lot easier than I anticipated, for my husband and me anyways. My three kids, well, let’s just say we’re still trying to help them adjust. It’s funny how little ones become such creatures of habit. As if moving from our old house to a new house wasn’t hard enough for them, their poor little bodies haven’t seemed to adjust to our new time zone either. And getting up two hours earlier in the morning because they don’t realize its only 5:00 AM makes for one really tired mama. You would think that because of this, the little stinkers would be worn out and ready for bed 2 hours earlier, but that’s not the case. Oh well! Looking on the bright side, it gives me 2 more hours to unpack and get the little luxuries like cable and internet hooked up so we can be connected again. Luckily several people that my husband works with told us we had to look at satellitestarinternet.com because they had excellent prices. Thank goodness we liked what we saw and were able to get hooked up in no time so we’re back in touch with the world again…even though we’re thousands of miles from our old lives.

Thank goodness we have so many direct tv channels because last week I had the flu. My husband kept telling me that I needed to get the flu shot and I kept putting it off like an idiot. I just never found the time to drop by the pharmacy and get the shot. I really paid for it last week because I was so sick. I literally couldn’t move from the bed. I only got out of the bed if I was feeling nauseated or had to go to the bathroom. I haven’t been that sick in a long time. The doctor even made a house call. I was confined to the bed and didn’t feel like doing anything. I didn’t even feel like catching up to work e-mails. I did feel like doing anything but watching television. If we didn’t have all of those television channels I wouldn’t just be in bed really sick, I would be in bed really sick and really bored.

Now that we have all four kids out of the house, out of college, and married, my husband and I finally have built our dream house. I’ve literally spent years dreaming of this house, but when you’re raising four kids, their needs always come first. We decided to build on Lake Lanier because it’s not too far from my job, and we’ll still be able to enjoy living on water-front property. As we built the house, our budget kept getting bigger and bigger. We’ve used almost all of our nest egg to build it, but that’s what it’s for, right? After we decided to buy new furniture, since I couldn’t stand the thought of our twenty year old furniture being in this brand new house, we decided to add a security system.
